Worship
 Disciples Christian
Church is first and foremost a worshipping community. We consider it a sacred
privilege and responsibility to gather in Christ's name each Sunday as we offer
our prayers and praise to God. Our worship service provides a comfortable blend
of traditional and contemporary styles. Sermons are biblically based, and
communion is shared at each worship service. Dress is casual. Regular Sunday
morning service begins at 10:30 a. m. Please see our "Events" page for
information about up-coming special services. Childcare is provided free of
charge for all worship services.

Children's Ministries
Helping children grow in the faith is one
of our priorities at Disciples Christian Church. We have several quality
programs for Christian education, faith formation, and fellowship.
Sunday School:
The program begins at 9:30 each Sunday morning. We use the Rotation Workshop
model for our children's Sunday School curriculum. This exciting program guides
the children through several learning stations such as Story Time, Art, Cookery,
Science, Video, and Music. Our creative team of teachers stands ready to help
your child explore these lively Bible stories from the inside out! You can find

www.rotation.org. The Youth class (grades 6-12) follows the Seasons of the Spirit
curriculum, a Bible-based program connecting worship, learning, the arts, and

Godly Play:
We use this excellent Montessori-based
curriculum for our Children's Worship program. Godly Play teaches children the
joys of self-discovery, creativity, and discipline as it teaches them the
stories of our faith. All children ages 3 through 2nd grade are invited to go to
Godly Play immediately following the Children's Sermon in the Sunday morning

Adult Ministries
Adult Studies:
Throughout the year, Disciples Christian Church offers several short-term
studies for adults on various topics of interest such as Bible study, prayer,
faith in film, and personal growth.
Christian Men’s Fellowship:
Is being organized and plans a spring debut. Contact Mark Mueller for more
information.
Christian Women's Fellowship:
Is organizing now for a Fall launch. For more information, contact Mary
Carroll.
Men’s Bible Study:
Calling all men! Come join us at IHOP (Plano Pkwy. just east of Preston Rd.,
south side of road) each Friday at 7:00 a.m. No Bible, No Breakfast! Questions?

Sunday School: At Disciples Christian Church, we believe that learning does not end with
childhood. All Christians need to grow in the faith throughout their lives. Our
Adult Education classes explore many topics of interest, including: Bible study,
life skills, world religions, and spiritual formation.
Young at Heart:
This group for older adults meets on the third Thursday of each month for dinner
and fellowship, usually at a local restaurant. Please see our

Music Ministries
Chancel Choir:
If you enjoy singing, you are invited to be part of our Chancel Choir. Under the
leadership of Music Director, Laura Young, the choir shares its gift of music
weekly in worship. Rehearsals are held each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Community Service
In the Gospel of John, Jesus asks Peter to
"feed my lambs and tend my sheep" (John 21:15-17). At Disciples Christian
Church, we consider this call to be our own. As a result, we strive to be
actively involved in our community to meet the needs of our neighbors.
As part of our Outreach Ministries, we
contribute to the following organizations through financial and volunteer
support:

We are also pleased to be the host site of
the First Chinese Christian Church of Texas. In March 2002, Disciples
Christian Church opened our doors to this congregation-in-formation. We consider
it a privilege to share our facilities and several of our ministries with these
fellow Christians. Their Sunday schedule is as follows:
