Jan Carter is the unflappable
Administrative Assistant at Disciples Christian Church.
Jan was born and raised in Southern California, in a suburb
of L.A. She graduated from Cal State Long Beach. Jan worked
professionally in the food industry doing product development
for food companies (Van de Kamp frozen food, Frito Lay, and
El Chico Corp). She has done consulting in the food industry
since 1988, but it has slowed considerably since going back
to work part-time in 1999. Jan worked for Menninger Care Systems
in personnel from 1999 – 2004. She has been at DCC since
Aug. 2, 2004.
Jan has been married to husband Jerry for almost 29 years;
with two daughters, Jessie and Jamie, and two step-children,
Cary and Christa. Jan lived in the Dallas area the first time
from 1979 – 1984; returning in 1995. She loves to work
in her yard, cooking/baking, entertaining, and finding a great
bargain!
