Clark’s Clips

Hear ye!  Hear ye!  Come one, come all, to the Fourth of July Parade to help with the church’s float and water program.  Alleviate thirst, cool people off and spread some cheer!  Along the way you can celebrate the holiday.

Independence Day is a day to remind us that we have freedom in our land – and it came and continues to come with a price.  Let us give thanks for the brave men and women who have faced and continue to face the hardships and challenges of war and peace actions to keep our freedom and help others get and keep the freedom they need.

The truth is that God created us for companionship – with God and with each other.  God created us to love and be helpful.  We see the example in Jesus himself.  So let us celebrate on Friday all the deeds of bravery and kindness that enable us to live in this great land of ours – in harmony with God and world.

All parade participants should be to the church by 8 am.   Please park in the church parking lot and walk over to the east side of the Plano Senior High parking lot. We will decorate the trailer/float (thanks to Chuck and Nancy) and finish preparations for the parade.

I have received the row assignment and instructions for the 2008 parade.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  Below are instructions for the 2008 PARADE:

Information for Line-Up from the City of Plano

Line-Up will begin at 7:00 am (NOT BEFORE) at Plano Senior High (northeast corner of Park and Independence). The line-up area is the large parking lot east of the school, between the school and Westside Drive.  Volunteers will be in place to assist you at the entry point.

Please do not arrive any earlier than 7:00 am as we will not be prepared and staffed with our volunteers yet. However, please do arrive before 8:30 am so that each row can be organized and the final parade line-up recorded and provided to the parade commentators and broadcasting station(s) before the parade begins.

From The TechnoManor

by Dave Gillen

Well, it’s Wednesday morning.  I’ve cleaned the cobwebs from my Inbox.  Hmmm, no questions. You do know that you can send your computer, email, Web, or related questions to me at

frenchygrey@gmail.com

I’ll attempt to answer one each week in The Link.

Ever have a strange computer message, or maybe a unique image from the Web, that you wanted to save?  Maybe print it to give to someone.  Maybe send it to some customer support person?

How can I capture what’s on my screen for someone to see?

There’s a fairly painless way to do this.

All Windows computers have a Print Screen button on the keyboard.  They look like this:

Sometimes the button is called PrtScn, Print Scrn, or something similar.  You may also have to press the Shift button with Print Screen.

When you see something on the screen that you want to save, press your Print Screen button.  (In the above picture, you would have to press Shift and Print Screen.)

Print Screen takes a snapshot of the screen and puts it in the Windows Clipboard.

Now, open your favorite graphics program.  Don’t have one?  Use the Windows Paint program.  Every Windows computer has one.

To open Paint, do this:

Click Start.  Select Programs.  Select Accessories.  Click Paint.

To see your screen capture, paste it from the Clipboard (in Paint:  Select Edit then Click Paste).  You now have a copy of the screen.

You can save this screen capture to a file to email to others, print it, or fiddle with it any way you want.  Kinda like this:

Give it a try!
