Updated Prayer Requests
- Charlotte
Nabors will have a lumpectomy on
April 18 followed by radiation for recently discovered breast cancer.
- Curtis
Gulick, Linda Gulick’s son, will
have surgery to remove his thyroid gland on May 12. He is having additional testing done
this week.
- New
DCC member, Mackin Shei, asks
for prayers to help him find a job and school to attend during this
difficult time.
- Genevieve
Marie Walker, great granddaughter of Joan Twenty, was born on April 12, which happens to also be
Joan’s birthday! The parents are
Joan’s granddaughter and her husband, Jean & Jensen Walker.

our worship bulletin each Sunday.
During May on Sunday
evenings we offer the Newcomer’s Café.
It’s an opportunity for folk that are new to Disciples Christian Church
to learn more about us. It’s also an
opportunity for those who feel the need to refresh their knowledge about
Disciples Christian Church. The program
begins at 5:30 each Sunday evening with light refreshments, followed by a
program.
On the last two Sunday
evenings of April the

Have you ever gotten some
news and wanted to turn it into a prayer request while it was still fresh in
your mind?
If you have a computer
handy, you can.

on Prayer Request form on the home
page of the church’s Web site (www.dccplano.com). |

A Prayer Request form is
displayed. Fill in your name, email
address, and prayer request. Then click
the Submit button. Your request is sent
as email to Diane and Galen Clark. They
will contact you to determine if it is permissible to share your request with
the entire church family.

Tutoring Committee comprised of PAT BROWN, ROSIE LEWALLEN, and SUSAN
SHAW was recently formed to assist youngsters from DCC, FCCC and Holy

Bible study series will be held on these Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm led by Revs. Diane and Galen Clark. They will begin with a light supper and end
with a time for recreation. All friends
and members of the church are invited, including the youth! The theme is “Through the Wilderness: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.”
n Newcomers
Café … If you are a newcomer, a new member or an established
member who just wants to find out more about DCC, then these four Sunday
evenings in May are for you:

4: “Getting to know each other”
— May
11: “Who we are as Christians”
— May
18: “Who we are as the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ)”
— May
25: “Who we are as Disciples
Christian Church”
Each session will be from 5:30
pm—7:30 pm and will include light refreshments. For
the May 18th session, we will have a guest speaker. The Dr. Newell Williams,
President of Brite Divinity School at TCU, will talk from his vast knowledge of
the history and practices of the Christian Church. Contact Fred Hall or the church office

Dave Gillen is offering a
Computer Question and Answer Forum in June.
There will be no set presentation.
Bring your computer questions, Web puzzles, and Email conundrums to the
forum. Dave will help untangle the mess
for you.
We have no set date or
time. That’s where you come in. We need to know a few good dates and times
for you. The forum will last about an
hour…or until the well of questions runs dry.

yes. You’ll have to come to the forum to
find out why!

Guest Speaker
A special treat is going to
be available on Sunday evening, May 18
at 5:30 at the Newcomers Café. On that
evening, Dr. Newell Williams,
President of Brite Divinity School at TCU will tell us about the history,
beliefs and practices of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Newcomers will benefit very much from this
presentation, but even if you are a long time member of the church, you will
want to come hear Dr. Williams!
Newell has written and edited
several books and articles about the history of the Christian Church and about
Christianity and culture in
Dr. Williams is a
fascinating speaker. Everyone will benefit from Newell’s visit. Plan to be here!
Young At Heart
The active senior fellowship group
