The prayer requests in The
Link each week are recent updates. A list of ongoing prayer requests appears in
our worship bulletin each Sunday.
During May on Sunday
evenings we offer the Newcomer’s Café.
It’s an opportunity for folk that are new to Disciples Christian Church
to learn more about us. It’s also an
opportunity for those who feel the need to refresh their knowledge about
Disciples Christian Church. The program
begins at 5:30 each Sunday evening with light refreshments, followed by a
program.
On the last two Sunday
evenings of April the

handy, you can.

page of the church’s Web site (www.dccplano.com). |

A Prayer Request form is
displayed. Fill in your name, email
address, and prayer request. Then click
the Submit button. Your request is sent
as email to Diane and Galen Clark. They
will contact you to determine if it is permissible to share your request with
the entire church family.

Bible study series will be held on these Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm led by Revs. Diane and Galen Clark. They will begin with a light supper and end
with a time for recreation. All friends
and members of the church are invited, including the youth! The theme is “Through the Wilderness: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.”

Café … If you are a newcomer, a new member or an established
member who just wants to find out more about DCC, then these four Sunday
evenings in May are for you:

4: “Getting to know each other”

11: “Who we are as Christians”

18: “Who we are as the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ)”

25: “Who we are as Disciples
Christian Church”
Each session will be from 5:30
pm—7:30 pm and will include light refreshments. For
the May 18th session, we will have a guest speaker. The Dr. Newell Williams,
President of Brite Divinity School at TCU, will talk from his vast knowledge of
the history and practices of the Christian Church. Contact Fred Hall or the church office

Guest Speaker
A special treat is going to
be available on Sunday evening, May 18
at 5:30 at the Newcomers Café. On that
evening, Dr. Newell Williams,
President of Brite Divinity School at TCU will tell us about the history,
beliefs and practices of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Newcomers will benefit very much from this
presentation, but even if you are a long time member of the church, you will
want to come hear Dr. Williams!
Newell has written and edited
several books and articles about the history of the Christian Church and about
Christianity and culture in
Dr. Williams is a
fascinating speaker. Everyone will benefit from Newell’s visit. Plan to be here!
