Updated Prayer Requests

  • Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to Vicki & Daniel Gonzalez, Chuck and Nancy Bertschi and the family of Victor Lozada, the motorcycle policeman who died last Friday while working in a motorcade.  Victor was Daniel’s brother-in-law.
  • Claudette Marcoux, mother of Laura Young’s brother-in-law, passed away February 22 after a long struggle with cancer.

The prayer requests in The Link each week are recent updates. A list of ongoing prayer requests appears in our worship bulletin each Sunday.

Clark’s Clips

STEP was an old program for congregations seeking to undergird their ministries.  The acronym stood for Stewardship Total Enlistment Program.  It asked for a pledge of your treasure, your talent(s), and your TIME.  With daylight savings time approaching we think more about how we use our time.  How much time do you give back to God?  Two hours a week we formally and corporately learn and worship.  But, what about the rest of the week?  With all the other activities in life we ought to have time for private worship, study, service, and prayer.  Then we can integrate all the aspects of godly living in our daily lives.  It may be difficult for us with busy lives to work it all around.  But ask yourself, “Which crowd do I want to be with during Holy Week?”  One shouts, “Hosanna!”; the other shouts, “Crucify!”.  It may not be all that black and white in our lives, but it is something upon which to meditate.

Lenten Journey

Community Christian Church of Richardson is presenting “Lenten Journey,” a meditation experience created by Spiritual Ministries Institute, Inc.  The event takes place on Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and on Thursday, March 13 from 10:00 – 2:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  “Lenten Journey” focuses on Christ’s sacrifice and struggle that led to his resurrection and our salvation.  The prayer experience is set up for you to come and go when and as you wish.  It takes place in the sanctuary at 1300 Holly Drive, Richardson.

DCC Congregational Meeting

On Sunday, March 9, 2008, we will hold our first board/congregational meeting of the year. We will be discussing the business of the church and some of the things we have done in the first quarter of 2008. We will be eating a POTLUCK lunch after the meeting and the plan is to sit in your Flock groups for lunch, per the Elder’s request. I have spoken to Rev. Jaing about this and the Chinese church is aware that we will be eating in Fellowship Hall on Sunday. They will be using the North side of Fellowship Hall as they usually do after they finish their worship service. We will eat on the South side of Fellowship Hall. Please bring a dish or two to share with everyone.
