Updated Prayer Requests

The prayer requests in The

our worship bulletin each Sunday.
“How very good and pleasant
it is when kindred live together in unity!”
(Psalm 133:1) I could not help
but think of that verse as we were having dinner Sunday with the First Chinese
Christian Church. Not only was the food
delicious, but the fellowship was warm and hospitable as well.
While most people probably
did not notice it, it was especially appropriate for the two fellowships to
meet together as it was Race Relations Sunday.
Chinese New Year only comes once a year.
So does Race Relations Sunday, but good race relations are best observed
every day, not just once a year.
All of this is just to say thank
you to the Chinese church for the delicious dinner and for the
opportunity to share Christ’s building and table with you. How very good and pleasant it truly is!

Holy Grounds
We keep growing. They start coming
about
The mood is everything from quiet talk about the day to complete
excitement when they are competing in a fast-paced game. Most of all, they are glad we have this place
where they can come – a place where people want them to come and be themselves
and not be “programmed” for some other purpose.
Holy Grounders are good. They jump
in to help clean up. They let me know if
they can’t come the next time. They want
to be near us. DCC’s
ministry is being noticed across the region and even being copied!

Hymn Poll
Are you desperately tired of the political polls yet? Well, here is
your chance to participate in a completely non-partisan poll. Do you want
questions with easy answers? And what’s more, there is no possible negative
outcome if you don't participate, and a guaranteed
positive outcome for every single one of you who do! All ages, members or visitors alike, are
welcome to participate. Do you have a
favorite hymn(s)? If you will take the time to email the name(s) to me, or
write it/them down to put it in the hymn poll box in the narthex this month, I
will be sure to find a time during 2008 for us to sing them.
Please tell me:
1) Your favorite general/"ordinary time"
hymn: __________________________________________
2) Favorite Advent/Christmas
hymn: ______________________________________
3) Favorite Lent/Easter hymn:____________________________________________
4) If anything were possible with the DCC music program, I wish
we could...
Thank you! I will share the “DCC Top Ten” in a future Link article
and am looking forward to programming your favorites in upcoming worship times
this year.
