Updated Prayer Requests

The prayer requests in The
Link each week are recent updates. A list of ongoing prayer requests appears in
our worship bulletin each Sunday.
In Romans 12:13 we are
told: “Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to
strangers.” As a congregation we
certainly obey that command.
As you are probably aware,
next Sunday is the FOOTBALL Super Bowl.
Our church will also have our S-O-U-P-E-R Bowl. The Souper Bowl of
Caring is a great way to practice hospitality and reach out to those in
need. The Souper
Bowl of Caring is a faith-based crusade against hunger.
We are joining other
churches, schools, organizations and individuals across the country to fight
hunger and poverty by collecting canned and nonperishable foods this
Sunday. What is collected stays in the
community to help fight hunger, but we report our total to the Souper Bowl headquarters so that they can come up with a
grand total.
Rev. Dr. Brad Smith,
founder and executive director has said, "It is a way for people to put
God’s love into action, by having a heart for helping others."
In 2007, over 14,600 groups
raised over $8 million for soup kitchens, food banks and other helping
charities. Since the Souper
Bowl began in 1990, over $41 million has been given to help those in need. This year we pray for another generous
outpouring of gifts. May God bless our
giving, always.
Please plan on
attending the Ash Wednesday worship
service on February 6 at 6:30 pm.
The shared service will take place at First Christian Church,

Dear Friends in Christ,
The Board of Directors and
the Staff of Disciples Crossing would like to thank you for your support
through prayer and monetary donations throughout 2007. The $200.00 that your church donated to the
camp was very much appreciated.
This past year we had 4,910
campers come through the gates. Were it
not for the blessings that you provided, many of these campers would not have
had the opportunity to attend a retreat or summer camp at Disciples
Crossing. Please continue to keep the
camp and its staff in your thoughts and prayers throughout 2008.
Thank you – Matt Chandler,
Executive Director
