Christ is Risen!

Come and hear the good news on Easter Sunday at Disciples Christian Church:

The morning begins with a joint service with First Chinese Christian Church at 8:30 a.m. Bring flowers from your home garden to put on the cross.

Following the early service, there will be a breakfast and Easter Egg hunt. There is no Sunday School on this day.

Our time together concludes with a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our 10:30 am worship will feature special music by our young people, great hymns of the faith and a message entitled "Fairy Tales and New Clothes."

Can you think of anyone you could invite to join us for Easter 2006?

Spring Cleaning
This Saturday, April 15, there will be a church workday beginning at 9 a.m. Come and help us as we spend a little bit of time getting the church spruced up and ready for Easter! To see a list of probable projects, click here. Please bring any appropriate tools.

With spring well underway and summer approaching, volunteers are needed for mowing every other week. If you can help, please let Rick Boyer know.
In vibrant, Christ-centered churches, what does evangelism look like? How about worship? Outreach?

Join us during April and May as we explore questions like these ... We'll take a look at the purpose and mission of the church, and we'll listen for God's word of vision for Disciples Christian Church as we continue to claim God's promise of "all things new."

  • April 30 ... Worship Out of the Box ... I Peter 1:3- 12
  • May 7 ... Community Out of the Box ... John 15:1- 8
  • May 14 ... Discipleship Out of the Box ... various Proverbs

This series is taking place in conjunction with DCC's new leadership structure. Job descriptions for all of the new ministry team coordinator positions are available on the DCC Website.

  • July 21 ... "Altered," the youth praise and worship band from Cypress Creek Christian Church in Spring, in concert ... Ice cream social beforehand beginning at 7 p.m.

The 2006 NTA Annual Area Assembly will take place on Sunday, May 7 at 3 p.m. at Northway Christian Church in Dallas. The guest preacher is Rev. Andrea Foster. C lick here for directions to Northway Christian Church.

Habitat build
Work continues on the Interfaith Partners for Habitat home at 1210 G. St. in Plano. If you can help, volunteers are needed every Saturday. Simply show up at 8 a.m. with some work gloves and a servant's heart, and trained, dedicated construction supervisors (like our own Dave Bell!) will point you in the right direction.

There is no workday on Saturday, April 15 due to Easter weekend. Work resumes on April 22 and will continue until June.
Posados
